We are working on remodeling a 1915 farmhouse, located just a few miles north of the main farm. We purchased the property last year & have slowly been chipping away at the upkeep & maintenance of the place, while slowly giving the house a facelift.

The farmhouse, itself, is a very quirky, quaint house, set on a hill. It has had many additions, to accommodate its growing family, back in the day. We love uncovering its stories, as we peel back the layers inside. You can tell the family, that grew up there, shared so much love. We hope to preserve as much of that, as we can, as we help bring back much of its originality.

Some of my favorite things about the house are the bedrooms upstairs. They belonged to sisters & sit directly across from each other at the top of the stairs. I can just hear the stories shared back & forth. I also am obsessed with the original wide, wooden baseboard in those rooms. As we pulled up much of the flooring from the 60’s, we discovered original wood flooring in the main parts of the original house. We hope to be able to restore it fully. Metal cabinets, a farmhouse sink & teal tile in the bathroom are also staying.

Our ultimate goal for the place is a possible airbnb or a rental for another family again. The property is quite peaceful, with existing flower gardens, berry bushes, sassafras & flowering trees. We hope to build upon that & add some extras outside, as well. Anyway, enjoy a few clips of some of the progress we’ve made & follow along, as we continue to make headway in ‘23!
