Friday Farm Focus-Market Time!

We have been attending our local farmer’s markets for a few years now. Each market season, it becomes a struggle to find balance. Struggling with FOMO & family time. Struggling with prep time & inventory issues. Struggling with marketing & weather. In the end, we always look back at the past season with admiration though & can’t wait to do it again the next season!

FOMO is real y’all. Like really real. Can’t make it to a certain market or signed up for a different market that same day? Yup, for sure, going to be fearful of missing out on the fun events planned, large crowds or seeing market friends. It is something that I wasn’t prepared to deal with, when we started doing markets. And it is something that I continue to work on, as we get ready to enter our FIFTH market season.

Prep time is also always a large factor during market season. Physically prepping our inventory may look like restocking our freezers, washing & inspecting eggs or making & labeling more soaps & lotions. Thinking about bags, change, reordering supplies, gassing up the generator, etc-there’s always something to do, to prep for each market.

Probably the biggest thing we’ve struggled with lately though, is marketing. Feeling drained & defeated by algorithms is where we are, folks. Putting content out on the socials is not what it used to be, especially for this non-marketing major. But we’re continuing to roll with the punches. We plan to keep producing, as long as there is a need. We just hope you’re seeing what we’re putting out there.

Overall, we are looking forward to this season’s markets. We told ourselves we wanted to scale back this year, but our calendar is a liar. Here’s what we have on our radar for the first couple months, so far. We hope to see many familiar faces & as always, we LOVE meeting new acquaintances & sharing our love for our farm-raised goods. We hope you’ll pencil in some of these dates & get out & shop locally!
