November 11th

Why November 11th?

Veteran’s Day is a time to remember & honor all veterans, who have served in the United States Armed Forces. But why is Veteran’s Day observed on November 11th each year? It was chosen on this day in commemoration of the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Hostilities officially ended in 1918 at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

It was originally called “Armistice Day” & was intended to honor veterans of the First World War. Later, the holiday was expanded to include all U.S. military veterans, who served in either war or peacetime.

This Veteran’s Day, we’d like to show our appreciation for our country’s veterans & their families, who have sacrificed so much. At 11:00am today, we plan to join our fellow Americans in a moment of silence, to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us.
